The year 2000 has become a big year for expansion at
CPS. In January, we took delivery on a new RAMSA SX1-A
sound console. In May of 2000, we also purchased a
Leprecon LP 1600 48/96 Plus lighting controller along
with 60 channels of 2.4K digital dimming.
In 2003 and 2004 we added new processing equipment
including a Yamaha 2040 along with 14 channels of KT 360
graphics.
June of 2005 saw the largest expansion in company
history with the addition of the
JBL Vertec 4888 (3 way mid high) and 4880 (dual 18"
subs) line array system. Powered with 88,000 watts of
Crown I-Tech power and processed with the
Blu-16 by BSS London Soundweb the system is a true
"Smart System" and one of the more cutting edge rigs in
the Pacific Northwest. The equalizing, amp settings,
gain shading and array calculations are controlled from
either the mix position or from a wireless tablet
allowing for instant adjustments to be made to any part
of the system from anywhere in the venue.
An upgrade to the main and monitor processing was
also made. 10 channels of DBX 166XL compressors, 8
channels of DBX 1074 noise gates, a TC Electronics D-2
tap delay and two Yamaha SPX 2000 multi-effects units
were also added. New EWI pull-over racks and a few new
Shure microphones rounded out the expansion.
In 2006 we added 4 Genie ST24 towers and 2 Lexicon
effects processors as well as a number of smaller items.
2008 brought about changes to the main and monitor
systems. We added 12 JBL SRX 712M wedges and 2 DBX
4800’s and 2 BSS 966 Opal graphic equalizers for the
front of house processing. We also added a new Ram
latch 54 ch. Split snake and a new (used) truck
along with the purchase of the most revolutionary
digital consoles on the market.
2011 saw the addition of two 24 channel Soundcraft
SI Compact digitalmixing consoles as well as JBL SRX
718 sub woofers. New JBL SRX 713M wedge
monitors were also added.
2012 was another big year for CPS. We added another
large format digital console (Yamaha PM 5D RH) and a
dozen more Crown XTI 2 series digital amps. However,
the biggest news is our partnership with
Spot Light
Productions. Spot Light has purchased our
lighting equipment as well as a huge amount of new
lighting equipment. This move has enabled us to
focus on the audio side of things as well as giving
us nearly unlimited lighting
capabilities.
Concert Production Services is in a constant state of
upgrade, so please check back for future developments.
